Research Interests:
- Determination of ocean circulation using a combination of satellite altimetry data from TOPEX/Poseidon and Jason-1 and geoid data from the GRACE mission
- Sub-surface current mapping using temperature and salinity profiles from Argo floats
- Heat transport especially by western boundary currents
- Gulf Stream geostrophic transport
- Science education for K-12 and at the university level

- Participated in the 2003 Charleston Bump Research Cruise aboard the R.V. Seaward Johnson which included 2 submersible dives to depths of over 500 m.
