Research Interests:

  • Determination of ocean circulation using a combination of satellite altimetry data from TOPEX/Poseidon and Jason-1 and geoid data from the GRACE mission
  • Sub-surface current mapping using temperature and salinity profiles from Argo floats
  • Heat transport especially by western boundary currents
  • Gulf Stream geostrophic transport
  • Science education for K-12 and at the university level

Current Research:

 

Field Experience:

  • Participated in the 2003 Charleston Bump Research Cruise aboard the R.V. Seaward Johnson which included 2 submersible dives to depths of over 500 m.
